What kind of I should undertake in examining shale gas potential of TOC rich black shale?

The black shale of Disang Group occupies a significant position in the stratigraphy of NE India. As there is no borehole samples available, therefore I fixed up a study based on certain specific biomarkers. My previous study on rock eval analysis failed to produce good results when other parameters like Ce anomaly, petrographic parameter of associated sandstones, heavy metal analysis conclusively provided good source rock character to the studied Disangs. At this stage I need expert opinion regarding the following:

1.Biomarker dependability

2. Oil to oil correlation and oil to source rock correlation
