Attached picture is a simple representation of solution mining plant, where a metal comes in contact with lean brine (say 5% salt) on inside and saturated brine (say 40% salt) on outside creating a concentration cell. Apart from concentration difference what else can influence this type of system and how it can be addressed? Kindly explain if you have come across any similar systems in Oil & Gas refineries.

As corrosion most often occurs in aqueous environments.
Galvanic corrosion is the most common form of corrosion. Pitting Corrosion occurs under certain conditions, which leads to accelerated corrosion in certain areas rather than uniform corrosion throughout the piece. SCC, localized and crevice are more prominent corrosion.

in addition to what Dr. Ashish Thakur said, I would add since you should be dealing with liquid flows (of which I do not know the speed and the possible presence of suspended solids) the form of corrosion-erosion of the materials.

I think Vinith can calculate easily the speed in any type of liquid using general corrosion formula 87.6 . (W/DAT) or by ex-foliation rate. In case of erosion, general corrosion rate is 2-10 mm/y and velocity range is 0.01-0.5m/s he may consider.
