Dr. Cherkasov is right. A proven traditional solution is to make a long quartz tube sealed on one side and connect it in a cold zone with a metal flange. These flanges can be water-cooled! The connection can be different - it is usually epoxy glue with filler or hardening with ribbon O-ring. In addition, the metal can already be connected further by ordinary connections ("plumbing") with gas mains, etc. Lack of this construction is presence of free space inside. It is uniform and there can be transport reactions occur, because there present both a cold and hot zones.
Direct connection of quartz with metal tubes in hot zone is a very difficult task. At a minimum, the coefficients of thermal expansion of these materials must coincide.
Therefore, not steel, but special alloy with low thermal expansion…
