Dear Mamta,

The ohmic contact is always in equilibrium. So the p -type material will only support the potential difference between its two contact where one contact will be at zero potential and the other at the applied voltage. A potential gradient is formed across the material. The conduction band and the valence band will be parallel and inclined in parallel with the macroscopic potential distribution.

Thank you Sir for answering my question. I have one doubt regarding barrier height. Will barrier height be changing with biasing ? or it will remain fix?
