Centrifugation allows particle separation by size; there are new easier to use and automate technologies. I would like to learn about where they could be used.
Clinical diagnosis applications may be the one suitable for you like plasma processing , blood platelet separation etc
Particles of pure compounds such as inclusion bodies and crystals when available are hard to separate from other particles in their 'natural' habitat (e.g. fermentation broth). The traditional way of dissolving and extracting is not efficient.
Fine particles of sizes 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 µm (and of course of higher sizes) can be separated by means of a sonic sifter. Look at this link :
