for instance you can easly prepare transparent UV curable coating by emulsion polymerization of hybrid polyurethane/ acrylics polymeric dispersion. Anyway check in the open and patent literature the formulation and properties of woodcoating that are usually transparent and within the many formulation developed you'll find for sure also UV curable ones.
