from my personal experience, using Eylea for almost one year, I have the impression 'it works', but I'm not really sure if over-all number of injections needed is different to what we have experienced with Lucentis. What other impressions and opinions are there?
I,m afraid that Eylia induces more choriocapilaris atrophy, by blocking the homeostasis of normal RPE production of VEGF, but I don´t have clinical data to support this affirmation. There is no studies that compare the choriocapilaris variation before and after anti VEGF therapy.
According to our experience the treatment frequency was a little bit lower after switch from ranibizumab to aflibercept. But: the difference was relatively small and far below the expectations set by theoretical calculations.
