Actually, I support Bourdieu's definitions of capital as cultural, economic and symbolic. I think people can have symbolic capital which also covers the resources which are defined in human capital.
In general, human capital covers a collection of resources which come from individuals such as experience, knowledge, and wisdom.
A Primer on Intellectual Capital, available at https://www.researchgate.net/publication/266232464_A_Primer_on_Intellectual_Capital, defines human capital as the cumulative capabilities and engagement of an organization's personnel, rooted in tacit and explicit knowledge, that can be invested to serve the joint purpose. (At a glance, this accords with @Jamila's definition.) This definition is not "stand-alone" but arrived at with due respect to the other two components of intellectual capital, namely, relational (or customer) capital and structural (or organizational) capital.
The concept of human capital is concerned with the added value people provide for organizations. It is human capital that is the differentiator for organizations and the actual basis for competitive advantage (Chatzkel, 2004 as cited in Baron and Armstrong, 2007).
Human capital is an important element of the intangible assets of an organization. The other intangible assets include copyright, customer relations, brands and company image. All these, but especially the know-how, imagination and creativity of employees, are as critical to business success as ‘hard’ assets. The significance of human assets explains why it is important to measure their value as a need to be done to manage them even more effectively (Baron and Armstrong, 2007).
