Thank you for taking the time to help.
For context I'm a Year in Industry Placement student preparing for, and getting a head start on his third year dissertation.
I've encountered a roadblock regarding the Methodological section of the proposal- in the guidance I've been provided so far, it states: 'You will also need to provide some information about how you are going to interpret and make use of the data once it has been collected.'
This is proving difficult to contend with. I've chosen my data analysis type/method, philosophy etc. construing an entire onion (Saunders et al., 2019), but can find very little solid information on data interpretation specifically, when searching the web through google scholar etc.
To my understanding one would collect the data, then analyse it (Thematic analysis in my case), the results of such analysis is then interpreted. Is this correct? if so, could anyone provide a journal or book that explores this in more depth?

Hi! For quantitative research if the data is analysed using SPSS then the interpretations could be done based on the objective and context of the data. The interpretations for demographic data depends on how the outcome can create impact on the particular study context. Usually university libraries have archives for students past research. Referring to those archives can provide ideas on data interpretations for the university students. Thanks
Your analysis of the data is always guided by the research objectives and or Research questions you wish to answer. Similarly, your interpretation of the analysis is based on the same. In your case the analysis is Thematic, which means you will be generating sub categories and categories; relate these to your objectives and you will get interpretation.
You have said you will use Thematic analysis, which means you will gather qualitative data. In qualitative data interpretation of the analysed data is how you will make conclusions from the analysed data. For your case the key words are; descriptions, narratives, sub categories, categories and how that leads you to conclusions. I hope that gives you a starting point.
