Another definition of time found on Google is "the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole."

Time is the duration of the facts , is what determines the moments , periods , times , hours , days , weeks , centuries etc . The word time can have several different meanings depending on the context in which it is employed .
The expression " on time " means that the fact is happening at the right moment , at the right time .
"Time " is the atmospheric moment is the definition of climate and seasons. "Closing Time" , is dark and threatening rain. In Brazil , the term " collapse time " , it is raining in torrents .
Greenwich Mean Time ( GMT ) , in Portuguese , Greenwich Mean Time , refers to the Greenwich meridian , which serves as a reference to calculate the longitudes and establish time zone .
"Musical Time " , is each complete parts of a musical piece in which the time changes . It is the length of each part of the measure .
" Verbal Time ," is indicative of the bending moment referred to the state or action verbs . It is the past , present or future.
" Killing time " is a phrase used at the time of distraction , fun . " Taking time " ' , is to be free , unhurried available. " Wasting time " is to use it on useless things , which you do not expect good results . " In my time ," is when we refer to a point in our lives , before a fact happened in the past . " Take a break " or " call time " , is requesting a moment , is ask for a break in any activity .
" Travel time " is the time taken to traverse certain distance . In physics , this time is calculated taking as reference the distance and speed of the object .
" Working time " is the period of time each day in which the employee is at the disposal of a company , is your workday .
The popular expression , " in the time of Oz" , " in the time of old king " or even " in time of Afonsinhos " mean something old fashioned, very old or very remote epoch

Time is the second name of change which is occurring continuously
You can`t change the past, but you have the energy and will to change the present and the future.
Time is the fourth dimension in our "visible" world.

Which is the 5th Dimension? and my answer is ENERGY !

Time has different scales that fit well with the size and lifetime of organisms and species and matter (micro-organisms, cells, organisms, planets, galaxies, and the universe) . It could range from sub-seconds to billions of years. It is a phenomenon that constantly moves forwards.

As per my opinion 'Time' is eternal fact, does not have end. Valuable, should use carefully once lost never get back.

I think all agree that in our common sense time is associated with a rate of change. But then does a rock lying still experience time? Of course it does, since eventually it will change! To explain this, I like to think about it like that: It has been proven that the entropy of everything in the universe tends to increase. i.e., things tend to go from a state of order to disorder. (In the case of the rock, 'given time' it will definitely change and be reduced to rubbles -> atoms -> energy). So for me time is best described as a rate of change of entropy.
What interests me, is how the brain physically actually perceive time? And why a certain amount of time can seem very long or very short?

To start with, as it can be seen from previous responses, the word time means many different things.
As a duration, it is most frequently used to measure the progress of events.
That is simply:
a measure expressed by a number derived from an arbitrary selected natural reference object's state. This number is recorded as an act of determination of the reference object's state and another object 's state or an event under measurement, simultaneously.
There is a lot to say about state, simultaneity, measurement, object, etc. but I leave this to imagination of the readers.
Our notion of time and its progression is referred to the inertial motion of rotating Earth. This representative change of state has been transferred to a different standard, which is an atomic clock.
Not being sufficient enough, we need an array of atomic clocks continuously in need of being synchronized to do timekeeping.
Time is a periodic phenomenon. Time is imaginary and it is related to physical quantity through the relation T = 1/f. T is period. f is frequency. This is the only fundamental relation that connects Time with reality. This is the reason it is impossible to measure time without the help of an oscillator. There for one can only compare one period of time with another. Continuously flowing time in one direction is an illusion.
