Usually topical steroids, systemic steroids with topical antifungal are prescribed, they sometimes work, but temporarily. Can anybody suggest a more definite mode of therapy. Any surgery/Laser/injectables etc?
The treatment of desquamative gingivitis is a lil difficult..first of all we need to identify the underlying oral lesion causing desquamative gingivitis as a wide variety of oral lesions can cause it and the most common being LICHEN PLANUS..we need to prescribe lycopene and retinoids for atleast 2-3 months and in severe cases, steroid ointment is required..0.03% TACROLIMUS OINTMENT has also showed promising results...
