What is the TOC content in ferruginous shale of Proterozoic basin and their source?

In my recent study I am getting more than 1 % TOC in ferruginous red shale of Proterozoic Cuddapah Basin. geochemical data shows oxidizing redox condition. what could be the source of organic carbon in this shale? I am not getting a proper reference for TOC content in red shale of Proterozoic age. Pl help
