I think the question must be how to conserve biological diversity and wild life in Iraq. Marbled Teal Marmaronetta is one among tens of endangered birds and animals in Iraq. The solution of this problems require huge efforts and in our present situation, the solution is so far.
This is applied for the Marbled Teal and other species as well. It should go first through acquiring better understanding on the status of the threatened species (being priority species and according to its level of threat); then to prepare the Species Action Plan, just like what the Iraqi Marginalization or Conservation of Nature (IOCN) is doing with the Ministry of Environment. I think that they developing good work regarding the threatened species in Iraq so far !
Thank you very much Dr. Hassan Alshamsi for your prompt reply, I was part of the team who established for the Biodiversity Conservation in Iraq through my contribution to the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) in 2013, when we have outlined the priority species for conservation, but my question was more specific, about the survival rate of one of these threatened species (Marbled Teal) .
