I want to use FAME for strain identification of bacteria involve in plant tissue contamination
Check the current AOCS (Association of Oil Chemists Society). Why use FAME? It will only give you a 'fingerprint'.
Remember, the microbial capsule is composed of mucopolysaccharides which are not FAME reactive.
