The human is curious, and science, in particular research, works reasonable. Only valide methods and appropriate questions are necessary, so that the path of research is controllable by confirmation of others, when results are discussed. What does mean responsibilty of the researcher? He is not responsible for the evils of the society but for his own correct working; much working regards basic research to develop and strenghten theoretical nets. Therefore it would be inappropriate to ask every small empirical project which use it has to help suffering people. The quality of social welfare doesn't depend on counting fly legs.
The purpose of doing research is either to improve the existing knowledge or to do some innovative work. It should be focused on the welfare of the society and should be carried out by following ethical ways.
