My dissertation project entitled "European Funds and Investments to support SMEs and further developments" concentrates on financial means offered by the European Investment Bank (EIB),the European Investment Fund (EIF) ) and the new European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). SME's have access to EU Institutions for financing their investments but, in practice, they are often ignorant or uninterested in investment financing and blending by European Institutions and prefer regional banks. Are there any papers/studies on the SME's attitude towards access to EU investment support? Thank you very much.

Hi Helmut, Can I suggest you read the 2016 t33 report to DG Regio on the evaluation of EU Cohesion Funds with specific focus on SME financing instruments. If I remember correctly many schemes remain not fully dispersed as small firms find them too bureaucratic to access. Hope this helps? Cheers, Marc
