@ Peetam. While your answer is detailed it provides only a route to Y2O3 amd not to Y2O3 nanoparticles. A bottom up synthesis route such as sol-gel needs to be contemplated and the material kept in suspension without filtering or drying to retain the nano nature (free, independent, discrete particles < 100 nm and stable).
