The college of education students need more skills orientation and therefore need to get the opportunity for practical education. How best more practical education could be given to them apart from the conventional education? That is the major question.
In a college of education program, students clearly cannot find out all they need to know about the subject area they will teach, how students learn that subject, and how to teach it more effectively. Consequently, college of education can be seen as a continuum, a career-long process whose attainment goes beyond conventional learning. Also, students need a basis for ongoing and career -long learning. In order to add more skill components in the college of education program college of education need to be able to adapt to new curriculum frameworks that emphasize practical education, advances in technology, and advances in research on student thinking and teaching practice. Also, students should learn how to learn. All these strategies clearly indicate the significance of practical education as an indispensable part of programs in the college of education.
These strategies are useful to add more skill components in teaching and implementing them may require more than a formal education program, including schools and classrooms becoming places for students to learn. Also, research that integrate the study of a subject area and the study of students’ learning from a practical perspective is very much needed.
Student teachers also need to try out new ideas and teaching strategies, so they can practice on each other or peer review each other's work. Practicing what you teach is definitely in order there and it builds confidence in teachers, a quality that speaks volumes in the classroom, especially where students are concerned.
Dear Dr. Ibtisaam, hope you are doing well and happy Ead for you and your family.
As long as the goal of education is to establish knowledge in the student's mind
Theoretical methods in communicating knowledge to a student may not achieve this goal, therefore, there must be practical aspects that help theoretical processes in education to ensure that the knowledge has been established in the mind of the student because most students prefer to apply what they thinking about as well as what they have learned.
With practical education, we endow our students with hands-on skills and experience for them to function proactively in their future careers. It is the best parting gift we can give to them and a lasting treasure that they would everlastingly remember us with. Best regards
A loooooot , I am from engineering background , cannot imagine without Labs...
As far as humanities is concerned , no theory is useful when practicality is out in the open ... A deeper appreciation of understanding is got only when it is bound to real ordeals
The importance and percentage of contact hours of practical teaching/sessions is an integral part of some of the modalities but it varies from courses to course.for instance in medical, technical and engineering like subjects education without practical is useless and have no impact on professional competency outcome related to this education.Whereas there are some subjects for which practical training is not mandatory.
In medical sciences from practical education we mean two types of practical training 1) Laboratory work and 2) Clinic work (Internship).
The practical part is very important in the college because it does not leave a deep impact on the soul, as the practical part can not be forgotten in the long term while the theoretical part is very forgetful and is complementary to the theoretical part
some of the theoretical concepts must be taught in real time environment for better understanding so that the students can able to deal with different scenarios.
