Finding of an abnormal lipid profile in a patient with an AMI means that someone did not care enough to make an attempt to treat the dyslipidemia and (hopefully) prevent the AMI. That could be due to physician or patient factors, and I have seen both. Also, one must begin to treat early enough in the course of the atherothrombotic d9ise4ase (ATD) process. One can not begin treatment of dyslipidemia today and prevent an ATD event that is going to happen tomorrow. early detection and treatment is the answer and the USPTFS is just plain wrong about early (primordial) lipid testing. One needs to know where one started from to know where one is going.
