I am trying to load a micelle solution (solvent is p-xylene) with FeCl3.
Doing so by weighing the desired mass of the salt (between 1 - 10 mg depending on the desired concentration) in a vial and adding the micelle solution is impractical as differences on the mg scale make a substantial difference in the loading molar ratio.
As an alternative, I would like to make a stock solution of FeCl3 in p-xylene to make the loading process more accurate.
You add a quantity of FeCl3 in a certain volume of p-xylene and stirr or shake it for say 10 minutes at a certain temperature (i.e. room temperature), then you can filter it and you can find how much of FeCl3 dissolved by taking the maas difference. The mass of FeCl3 per unit volume of the solvent p-xylene is the saturation point at this temperature.
