Does the epitaxy of Ag grown on Si surface have any effect on the surface enhanced raman scattering (using R6G)?

Epitaxy refers to a deposition of a crystalline overlayer on a crystalline substrate. When you take SERS analyze, you can see some peaks which are related to chemical bonds and also their intensity depend on the metal that you coated on your substrate for example Ag in your research,the size of them and so on. So you can measure SP3 to SP2 height of your peaks and say that you have amorphous or crystalline structure. But, I think, it's better that take XPS analysis, too. It's clear that you must compare your results before and after growing your crystals top of your layer with SERS because of some dislocations. you may need XRD pattern for the orientation of crystals.

Thank you,@Arezou Zarei.I have obtained the crystal structure of Ag through TEM study but actually I want to know what actually the role of epitaxial growth on SERS enhancement?what would be difference in SERS spectra if Ag deposited on Si non-epitaxially?

As you know, the Raman spectroscopy of metals usually accompany by low intensities. When you use Ag nanoparticles deposited on Si non-epitaxially, it's usual that your peaks have low intensities because you measure dispersions in Raman spectroscopy. But crystals can make higher intensities in some special cases and also it may cause some shifts because of the size of your particles. I must see your Raman spectra after depositing epitaxial layer and the SERS spectra of Rodamine (R6G) to explain more and more.
