DSI technique usually gives better performance (very desirable comparing with the other techniques). As known, it uses a high value of b-value at the same time it takes long acquisition time. what is the relation between the acquisition time and b-value?
b-value and acquisition time are not necessarily linked. What matters is how many volumes you acquire, DSI (and diffusion imaging in general) has you repeating the same scan at different diffusion directions and b-values - more volumes equals longer acquisition time.
In DSI, higher b-values often do imply more lines in q-space, though, but it still comes down to the same thing: You're acquiring more volumes.
Mr.Kristof. Thanks for your efforts. I have an inquiry, as you said "higher b-values often do imply more lines in q-space". Is it possible to reduce the number of line by using one of the optimization algorithm? because if it possible, we can use low b-value and reducing the acquisition time

It helps to look at the calculation of b: b = γ² G² δ² (Δ−δ/3)
where G=magnitude, δ=duration of gradient on time, and Δ=time between start of gradient and the start of the following gradient pulse. To increase b, one of these factors must change. Most magnets are capable of increasing the magnitude of the gradient at most conventional b values so time is unaffected. Some magnets, however, may show you a slight increase in acquisition time if you go to b values beyond what the gradients can support. Unfortunately this is scanner and sequence dependent if/how it will change acquisition, but hopefully that will help you understand the relationship.
