I tried to determine surface area of composite films (A and B) by using BET and Randles sevcik equation in ferrocen solution. According to BET results, surface area of A is bigger two times than B, however from electrochemical measurent surface arae of A and B are almost same. Do you have any idea about this differences? Thank You
BET measures nitrogen adsorption area while electrochemical measurements measure electrochemically active area. Area that adsorbes nitrogen may not be electrically conductive, connected to the rest of the electrode and electrochemically area. What you observed, higher area by BET, is consistent. Dear Nguyen, you mean that there is no linear relation between BET area and electrochemically active surface area?

May be for a given material if it composition and morphology are fixed and uniform, something that is hard to claim.
