What is the Relation between Absolute Propagation Time (ns) with respect to the Received Power (dBm) at the UE end? I would appreciate if anyone can explain the two graphs and the parameters associated with these graphs. Thanks.

The results presented seem to have been obtained by simulation and not by measurement. These results are obtained through multipath propagation. In LOS (Line-Of-Sight) environments (no obstacle between the Tx and Rx antennas), there is usually the direct path (with the smallest delay) and several reflected or diffracted paths with higher delays. The value of each path loss (PL) depends on the Tx-Rx distance, the type of antennas (omnidirectional or directional antennas), their heights and orientation, but also the propagation environment (walls, furniture , etc.). There is no simple relationship between absolute delay and path loss.
The Absolute Propagation Time (ns) measures the time taken by the signal to travel from the transmitter to the receiver, while the Received Power (dBm) measures the power level of the signal arriving at the UE end.
These are results of two simulations:Run1, with Tx - Rx=198.9m and Run2, Tx - Rx=10.0m.Using a 52.6GHz Omnidirectional signal and and a Non Line of Sight(NLOS).In Summary, the received power (Pr) at the user equipment (UE) decreases with increasing absolute propagation time & also increasing propagation path.
From the graphs, in Run1, As the absolute propagation time increased to ~ 700ns, no signal was received. Also, the lower received power, (Pr) of -126.8dBm and higher path loss, (PL) of 156.8dB recorded is due to longer propagation path btw the Tx and Rx as compared to Run 2.
The absolute propagation time (APT) is the time it takes for a radio signal to travel from the transmitter to the receiver. The received power (RP) is the power of the radio signal at the receiver.
The APT and RP are related by the following equation:
RP = Pt - 10 * APT / Lg
where:
- Pt is the transmitted power (dBm)
- Lg is the path loss (dB)
The path loss is a measure of the attenuation of the radio signal as it travels through the air. The path loss is dependent on the distance between the transmitter and receiver, the frequency of the radio signal, and the environment (e.g., urban, rural, etc.).
The APT and RP are inversely proportional. This means that as the APT increases, the RP decreases. This is because the radio signal is attenuated more as it travels through the air for a longer period of time.
The graphs in the ResearchGate post show the relationship between the APT and RP for different values of the path loss. The graphs show that as the path loss increases, the APT and RP decrease.
In general, the APT and RP are important parameters for understanding the performance of a wireless communication system. The APT can be used to estimate the delay between the transmission and reception of a radio signal, while the RP can be used to estimate the quality of the received signal.
