One of the best known energy drink producer says human body has 70 grams of taurine spread all around the tissues and claims that one more gram of taurine will not disturb the body functions. What do you think?
Taurine has been discussed to mitigate effects of hyperglycemia (de la Puerta et al. 2010). However, the "energy drink" you probably refer to contains that much sugar, that the better choice would be not to drink it.
Taurine is used as bodybuilder as a main source of amino-acid. It has been proved its properties in many studies specially to decrease the LDL, as antioxidant, platelet aggregation (inhibitory effect) antiflamatory... However few studies related to use in energetic drinks.
