Dear all researchers,
I work on RCCI engines, but after simulation, the contours shows abnormal temperature increase in the center of the engine. This abnormal temperature increase, is the main reason of NOx production in my model.
Anyone know what is the reason of this temperature increase?

What mesh type are you using and how many elements are you using close to the axis?
Also, did you check if this instability comes from the periodic boundary condition or the volumic mesh?
When I asked you this, I meant locally , where you see this temperature to have a better idea of what is happening. I actually asked about the mesh because I have seen simulations giving bad results while activating the chemistry. It was only due to the fact that the mesh needed refinement in certain areas because chemical species change much faster than the flow it self (temporal and spacial). So you can have a suitable mesh (or timestep) for your flow which will be insuffisent with chemistry. And using more complex chemistries will be more demanding on the mesh refinement (also timestep).
Have you a good convergence around the crank angle positions where the increase begins?
