In the preparation of a hybrid of two mesoporous compounds, the final surface area and pores volume werebeen improved compared to monomers. However, after loading the API, the loading efficiency of the hybrid is lower than that of any of the monomers. what is the reason?

@Thamer Omar, I used the melting method by heating the loaded mesoporous for a short time above the API melting point.

Did you conduct pXRD for your products? How were the results?
It seems that your resulting hybrid mesoporous has very low pore volume (pore size) and the drug solution after melting is very viscous and could not deeply penetrate the pores. I suggest to try another loading method such as solvent evaporation.

The XRD patterns of the empty substrates, API-loaded, and the melted APIs under working conditions investigated, only a decrease in the crystallinity for the empty substrates plus the presence of some additional drug-induced peaks were observed. Additionally, the review of BET results confirms the reduction of the surface area and the pore's volume by drug-loading.
