Dear Sir/Madam, I am growing citrus seedlings of different crosses in MS culture medium both liquid and solid. Growing conditions are 27 degree Celsius and light period 8h light and 16h dark. Recently all my seedlings tips are drying. kindly suggest me a solution and what might be the reason for these symptoms??seedlings are three weeks old
It could be lack of water because light duration and temperature seem optimum :)
To my opinion (hobby gardening) it is the lack of moisture in the air.
Too dry air causes tip drying at a lot of plants, especially in winter time when the rooms are heated at our degree of lattitude in middle to northern Europe.
Keep humidity to about or sightly above 50% ( please have a look at the section 'Secret No. 1: Humidity' of the1st link.
In the second link a humidity of 30% to 60% is recommended.
But sorry for telling you the humidity conditions; you are from Citrus Research Institute; you or your colleagues should know that conditions.

I always do use 0.5 MS for seedlings. Also with not so compact an agar. A bit less than 0.6%
