I'm doing research in self cooling concrete panels generally hydrogels are provided in self cooling brick, when it is used in concrete what is reaction between concrete and hydrogel.
Does the hydrogel cause any harmness to concrete.

There is no reaction between the cementitious matrix and the hydrogel. When added dry, they will absorb part of the mixing water. This entrained water will be used for internal curing which is beneficial for mitigating autogenous shrinkage. Afterwards, the polymers also promote sealing and healing of the material.

. In additon, Try to do at least compressive strength test for specimens with and without hydrogel and you will know.
