as we konwn,the caprini score is the tool for assessment the VTE risk ,especially for the patients undgoing surgery in the post-opertive period. and the model is maked by Pro caprini.
but ,i still donot understand the rantionale of the caprini score model, The first question , every risk factor has it's point,such as age 40-60 is 1point,age 60-74 represents 2 point, and so on, how to calculate the different point and what is the rationale, is there anyone can help me ,if you have some paper the intrdouce the method to creat the model? thanks a lot.

I can just help on the model and econometric side.
The Caprini score is calculated by adding the scores of all factors present in the patient. The Caprini score is interpreted in the following way:
Score 0-1: Low risk of VTE
Score 2: Moderate of VTE
Score 3-4: High risk of VTE
Score ≥ 5: Highest risk for VTE

Thanks Mo Sherif for your answering,and i have some paper about the caprini score,but in these pubilished paper, i donot find the rationale of the design, such as 0-1 point corresponding risk stratification is low risk of vte, why not to correspond to moderate risk. why the risk factor correspond to how much point?such as age 45-60 corrresponding to 1 point,why not 2point? i want to understand the basis and rationale of the setting, these basis can help us to set the vte risk assessment model for chinese.
