What is the purpose we want to ignore thoes tree with DBH less than 3-4 cm ?

(1) I am wondering why certain methodology in research decided to measure the trees with 3 to 4cm in DBH (diameter at breast height) ?

(2) Why some include all the trees with DBH less that 4 cm?

Hi! It depends of your research question.

I ´m working with natural regeneration and I need to consider minors diameters. If you want to know only the actual situation of the population you can use DBH greater than 4 our 5 cm.
