You may please try either PHOL stain (developed by us in 1990) or Narayan stain (developed by me in 1998) to stain the yeast as well as moulds.You can find both the papers on Research Gate.

I did not use Hoechst 33342 .I am using our stain for studying the detailed morphology of yeasts and moulds.Our results are very encouraging.
