I am also working on development of composite by friction stir welding/process. I am interested to know the process you have planned to use for your composite manufacturing. Thank you, sir in advance.
I am working on friction stir welding on several field such as friction stir processing, friction stir spot welding, friction stir coating and refill friction stir welding. We are using several of materials such as Alminumm alloys, Maginsum alloys and copper alloys. The main machines for these projects are milling machines and drilling machine. Could you tell me which you need to say about composite manufacturing?
The question is not clear. Are you planning for welding two similar or dissimilar MMCs plates. Usually, FSW processes, as semisolid welding technique, are not employed as a fabrication process for composite materials meanwhile they can be used for welding sheets/plates of metals with different thicknesses.
Process: To provide a mechanical action between two metals. so that , a friction will be developed in the groove provided on the weld plates
with respect to the action of the rotational tool, plates will be welded (Process parameters to be chosen are Speed, feed and sample(either similar or dissimilar))
Machine: Vertical Milling Machine (VMM)
Could you make me bit more clear which you need to say about composite manufacturing?
It is about mixing two materials in the processed zone. Mostly researchers make a groove in a plate and fill powder in that groove. Thereafter, FSP uses to carry out on the groove region to develop composite. Is there any other feasible way to make composite?
Kindly contact in my mail id: [email protected]. We have a dedicated 3T friction stir welding machine where you can carry on any research activities in d domain.
