It provided interesting facts regarding what I am ultimately trying to find out which is the percentages of PVP and AgNP in a preparation, and the effects on the AgNP as an antimicrobial. What I gather from the research of the link you posted, if the concentration of PVP gets too high, the AgNP can perhaps no longer have as much anti-microbial effect because the Ag particles get "tangled" amid too dense of a concentration of PVP. Concluding from the study you linked to, if one were to get a preparation of AgNP stabilized with a PVP coating for the purpose of antimicrobial effects, one would look for a PVP concentration of between 1% and 10% in the preparation but no more, being that a higher concentration of PVP would possibly interfere with the AgNP effect on bacteria. Would you say that conclusion is correct?
