Emerging pollutants such as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and endocrine disruptors are toxic and their presence in the aquatic environment threatens living organisms and human health. After the process of their adsorption, the adsorbent materials regenerate for another use, what would be the fate of these pollutants? Because if this pollutant is landfilled, it would still be harmful to the environment. Are there any studies that answer this question? Thank you.

Yes, definitely such activated carbon will cause harmful effect on the environment. As on date such very few studies are found in literature.
Adsorbent materials can be recovered by thermal recycling, heat treatment etc.
That's a good question Yassine Jari Basically, adsorption is not considered as a green technology as the pollutants are still on adsorbent surface, or may form byproducts that can be more toxic. In recent years, biological method can be considered as a good option after adsorption.

The best solution for the eradication of pollutants is their total degradation (oxidation) into H2O and CO2
Recovered pollutants can be attempted to be used in various chemical syntheses. But probably the best way is to burn them.

The water purification cause lessening cancers and diseases in humans, aquatics because of standard amounts of pollutants emitted to the environment.
