I want to propagate 2-years Jujube seedlings in large containers so that i want to know the suitable amount of N,P,K fertilizers that i should add every year
The amount of N, P and K will be high relative to field applications because the plants will exploit a relatively restricted soil volume. In designing the application rates you should also consider the purpose of the study and confirm sufficiency using foliar analysis.
In Bangladesh, we recommend 140-90-225-24-2 g NPKSB and 20 kg manure/tree/year for 2-year old jujube plant. These fertilizers are applied in three equal splits, during March, May and September-October. Application time is based on monsoon rain. In our country monsoon rain starts from May and continues through September. Fertilizers should be applied around the tree up to the canopy spread leaving 50-100 cm from the tree base and mixed thoroughly with the soil followed by irrigation.
Yes , i agree with you Alper , this is a dynamic issue , if a fertilizer dose on one soil type is optimum , the same fertlizer dose on another soil will be suboptimum or high , depending upon the initial soil fertility status , age of plant , phase of palnt growth ( vegetative or reproductive) , 4R , 4W , all come into picture..
