I am using surface electromyography as a marker of shivering thermogenesis during cold stress. In one pilot subject, we have resting EMG voltages of around 0.2 - 0.5 uV for each muscle. However, when testing another subject under the same conditions, the resting voltage was around 2-5 uV for each muscle.

Is this normal variation or something wrong with the setup?
