Recently I used the Positive Up Negative Down technique to calculate the polarization of PZT. After the experiment, I observed two unwanted current response peak which appears right before the current peaks correspond to U and D pulses (as in the attached image). Their orientations are opposite to that of the U and D pulses. Can anyone suggest me if they are simply the noise or there are any physical phenomenon behind them ?
do you mean that you observe a double peaks on your time current measurement?
B. Vilquin Thanks for your interest in my question. In fact, I understand the nature of the double peaks in the time - current measurement (contributions of the capacitive and polarization switching current).
However, what I found bizzare here are the current responses of the U and D pulses. From the I-t graph, you can see that for each of the pulse, there are two current response peaks (one exists right at the beginning of the pulse and the other appears at the peak of the pulse).
While the second one, in my opinion, is the result of the leakage current, the nature of the first peak is difficult to understand because its orientation is opposite to that of the pulse. Furthermore, those peaks only appear at the U and D pulses, not the P and N.
the 2 peaks appear when you have a change in the applied voltage: do you think it can be linked to the electrical generator?
