In a recent paper I used a bent cylinder to illustrate the space of states for the simple pendulum. It should be a classical surface in Differential Geometry, maybe as far back as Euler or Lagrange, but I simply do not know.

The Mathematica .nb source code is attached.

Can someone identify the surface?

ADDED LATER:

The level curves contain the trajectories of the simple pendulum. Time dependent solutions of the simple pendulum are given by elliptic integrals.

Thanks in advance
