A number of indicators are now available to measure the impact of scholarly journals. For example, information regarding the impact factor, SCImago Journal Ranking, and Cite Score can be seen on the home page of some journals.
Hence, from the authors perspective, I want to understand that which indicator is the most appropriate for a medical journal.
Every citation metrics has its own importance. Publications in journals having higher impact factor are given preference and importance in career promotion. But citation counts of a research article shows importance of the research in current health perspective.
The SJR which is a weighted citation metric may be considered more relevant as it tends to place grade citations based on journal reputation and track record.
