I want to know about the popularity of ADC's (pipeline, delta sigma), RF (LNA, mixers) ultrasonic, and the other topics in universities that are a pioneer in analog electronic engineering.
Actually everybody will give difference answers in this relative question.
In my opinion, since RF analog design is quite saturated from mobile phone industry, the recent hot topics have to do with low power topologies such as low power sigma-delta, low power voltage reference, low power amplifiers.... Indeed, low power in analog is challenging, since you have increased process variations, drop of bandwitdh and ac gain, increase of noise level, etc. If you can design any of the basic blocks of analog in low power with acceptable levels of performance in the other parameters then you have plenty of space for novelty in any system design like portable devices, wearable electronics, medical implants and space applications....
