I'm having difficulty figuring out the optimum contact time for my ozonation batch small-scale experiment (about 10L sample). The ozone is generated using the air and the maximum concentration that can be generated is only 0.3 O3/L-min (it's a very old machine). Can anyone suggest how long I should keep the contact time? Most of the journals/papers I've read used continuous flow reactors and they don't specify either their flow rate or the volume. I would only do batch experiments because I am focussing on doing an overall toxicity evaluation on the ozone treated effluent.
