Gastrointestinal digestion includes the entire digestive pattern of any substance starting from mouth, stomach till the small intestine. Is there any protocol which helps to determine the in-vitro digestibility of my starch sample and is easy to perform also?
Well you cannot expect in-vitro digestion with the recent method of dynamic system. The dynamic system is the best choice to understand the ingestion to fermentation in gut to break down smaller fatty acids. We are working on a similar system. The work is on progress and we can come to conclusion in the end of the year.
Four Items in any simulation system should be considered: including: 1-gastrointestinal shear which increases as digestion proceeds, 2- digestive effective materials concentration changes (acids, bases and enzymes), 3-water absorption during digestion (concentration increment) and 4- glucose absorption during digestion (concentration gradient which enhances enzyme activity)

But is there any alternative procedure which i can use as for now to predict the digestion of my Resistant Starch sample? I have less time for my degree to end but in-vitro digestibility is also a part of it. Thankyou so much for your response.
