What is the minimum number of cells required for fluorescence in situ hybridization?

I have to perform a FISH experiment with limited number of cells and I am trying to estimate the minimum number of cells required to do FISH. Cells are from mammalian cell line. I failed in doing it from a 96 well plate. Can someone help?
