What is the method to calculate the standing tree biomass of dry deciduous forest of central India?
Exist many equations for estimate the biomass, but these equations were estimated for different situations. For exemplo, I have one that use diameter and height of eucalipts trees to several ages. The major problem is the estimated of dry mass. In our research we use the relation between basic density and volume without bark of the tree. The basic density was obtained in DBH.
The equations for ages are:
1. Six years - IMSDBD = -36997,90+ 2837,03*DBH -515,55*HT (R2 = 0,91)
2. Seven years - IMSDBD = -20717,90+ 3254,15*DBH -453,14*HT (R2 = 0,98)
3. Eight years - IMSDBD = -15713,50 + 3426,87*DBH -719,59*HT (R2 = 0,98)
4. Nine years - IMSDBD = -39947,50+ 1857,54*DBH+937,73*HT (R2 = 0,97)
IMSDBD is the average annual increase in dry mass, HT is the total height of the tree and DBH is the diameter at breast height.
These equations can help you, but can not be used in all case.
