I built a APDL model for the Harmonicanalysis of a Piezoelectric unimorph.
The model is a unimorph with the steel substrate meshed using Solid187 and the piezo layer meshed by Solid227. The bottom surface of the piezo has the boundary condition . The upper surface of the piezo has the DOF coupled using the coupling command.
When I run the model I get the error - "There are elements with negative electric charge and current conduction reaction solutions. This model is not valid". How do I get around this ? Do I change the keyopts for solid227? Your help is appreciated. A picture of the model is attached.
You have to put zero in all the elements of piezoelectric coefficient for the non-piezo part in your model. Also assign relative permittivity to those parts.
Fan Yang can you please share your solution to the problem as i am facing the same problem.
