What is the meaning of the apostroph (') in the shannon-Weaver index (H')?

Dear,

I am interested in plant biodiversity.

I am using Shannon-weaver or Shannon Index.

I noticed that sometimes, it is added an apostrophe (H') and an other not (H).

What is the meaning of this apostrophe?
