for just showing the streams velocity contour is good, in general cfd simulation solutions was given by pressure, velocity and temperature contours if energy constrain involved. Showing velocity itself gives an idea about flow rate. But some of my search shows flow contour means mass flow rate...

Not clear the term "flow counter"...it could be some specific label for the values of the variable? or some counter of the computational cost ?

That's why we asked here because it is not clear at all, so, we were advised to use the velocity contours because the investigation is about smoke management and the results that are important are the temperature and velocity not the mass flow rate.
