With respect to soil fertility and Nutrient content of plant (Quality) because it is recommended as foliar spray and our basic principle is to feed the soil instead of plant.
Nanofertilizers increases nutrient-use efficiency and minimizes nutrient leaching into ground water. Nanofertilizers also r enhance abiotic stress tolerance .
Nano fertilizer is environmentally friendly but it can not replace urea by 100 percent . The results of nano Urea alone is not so encouraging in acid alfisol of Jharkhand. It can be used to the tune of 25 to 50 percent of RDF of a particular crop along with 50-75% N through Urea or any other N source . I feel their is lot of scope of further research in Nano N
The disadvantages of using nano fertilizer first would be due to its high cost which is why not every farmer is able to adopt nano technologies for farming because of their poor economic conditions and secondly the disadvantage of nano fertilizer is that it has no particular dose which means that the dose that we have to apply is not determined, the amount of nano fertilizer can vary and also it has high variability, shows high
reactivity and also sometimes harmful to the environment.
Nanofertilizers will act as saviours for the farming community, as they are having high nutrient efficeincy and minimizes the loses which incurr due to the aollication of chemical fertilizers.
The disavantage is their safety concerns, price and cost of application, which act as a hurdle in their high scale utilization by the farmers.
