What is the main difference between Impact Factor (IF) and General Impact Factor (GIF)?

Is IF same as GIF?

It looks like it's just a convergence of names probably inspired by marketing goals. GIF does not take into account how frequently given journal is cited (because this requires a complete and up-to-data bibliographic database what costs a lot): http://generalif.com/policy.php
